Even when driving on wet surfaces, Type3 slotting guarantees better performance than other discs because it prevents a layer of water from forming on the braking surface when it rains. When rain water is deposited between the disc and the pad, it reduces the pad’s grip on the disc and significantly reduces braking efficiency.

In addition to its technical content, the Brembo Sport disc can be identified by fifteen or so slots of different lengths and depth designed and positioned in a way that is not random, but based on years of research and prototypes as well as by the Brembo logo which can be seen on the braking surface. This enables immediate recognition of the high quality and the aesthetic refinement which have always been a hallmark of Brembo products. The Type3 slotting is the result of years of research and development conducted by the Brembo and resembles the design of the discs used in the most competitive motorsports championships. This slot design has been widely used in most GT and endurance championships such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and is currently used in the WTCR World Championship.
