Maximum friction and zero fading

Brake pads are the smallest solid component in the braking system but one of the most subjected to stress and it is therefore vital to choose the right compound, especially if you are used to travelling hundreds of miles at a time and tens of thousands of miles a year.

Z04 pads
The Brembo Z04 sintered pads are commonly used on steel discs in the World Superbike championship. They consist of special compounds agglomerated through an adhesive-free sintering process.

They are real factory pads and are also available for the most popular street-legal supersport bikes. Due to the compounds used, the friction coefficient is higher than 0.8 already at 50°C and does not fall below this threshold until a temperature of 400°C is reached.

The lubricants added to the initial compound ensure consistent, smooth braking even when disc temperatures are high. This makes brake fading, i.e. the loss of braking efficiency, less likely. Abrasives also help to keep friction levels high by keeping the discs clean and removing deposits on the braking surface.

Z03 Pads
The other two sintered pads derive from Brembo’s experience in the world of racing.
The Z03 is a variant of the Z04 and is preferred by the best teams in the World Endurance Championship because of its reduced wear, easy running-in and extraordinary durability, ideal for 8, 12 and even 24-hour races.

The H38 pad, on the other hand, is used on the rear caliper and guarantees excellent performance at high ambient temperatures and in cold weather. This also has reduced wear and provides consistent performance until worn.

For track enthusiasts who use their bikes on both the track and road, Brembo has developed the new Z10, which is an entry-level compound compared with previous pads, has reduced costs and is available for the most popular supersport bikes.
